Poker Hands List
Depending on the variant of poker that you are playing, there are predetermined rules for the hands of five cards that the poker players can construct. The only standard used by all poker variants is the hand ranking system that compares these hands. The winner is the player that has the highest ranking hand, and usually this hand wins throughout most poker variants. Only few poker variants alow the lowest ranking hand to win or to tie a deal.
The hand rankings used in poker primarily can also be seen used in poker dice or other card games.
For those interested in increasing the ranking of a particular hand, the options are to include more cards having the same card rank, to create a suit with all five cards, or to have five cards of consecutive rank. The probability of receiving such a hand after randomly dealing a well shuffled deck is the base of this relative ranking of the different hand categories.
